You are? Come to the willow tree. I'm over there. I have something to give you.

[Curious, Jack makes his way over, and peers under the willow's drooping branches for her.]

Night Sky?

( Lounging in the shade of the tree, Night Sky perked up upon hearing her name. )

Hi! If I had known you were so close I would have just walked over. Come here. I wanna give you something.

Okay. For me?

[Yes, he's curious. He likes gifts. He's terrible about giving them, and didn't actually realize it was holiday time until like... now... but getting them is fun.]

[wildwarden]

Of course.

( She rifled around for a moment before pulling out a small bouquet of daisies, along with a box. Inside said box was a wooden pendant) I know you didn't like the weird dog gifts you got - hoped you might like this one?

Oh, I like the flowers, thank you.

[He investigates the box curious, and his expression winds up... complicated. It's a wolf. Jack isn't sure if that's worse than a dog or better. But it's well-done, artistically, and if he's wearing a wolf pendant, well, he can certainly never forget where he came from can he?]

( She nodded. )

Yeah. You like it? I can always make something else if you don't.

No, no, it's very nice.

[He hesitates, then asks after a pause,]

Just out of curiosity. Why a wolf?

[wildwarden]

Well, for one, I was going to make a Jack Russell but I couldn't find a picture of what they looked like. Also, wolves are cooler, and I figured you liked dogs.

[Jack is not particularly fond of dogs, really-- he doesn't dislike them, but they have never been fond of him given the wolf thing, so he just avoids them. But the wolf at least makes some sense. He'll keep it, if just as a reminder.]

It's okay. Jack Russell dogs look kind of silly anyway. They have these short little legs and stubby little tails. Wolves are definitely better for jewelry.

[He wraps his hand around the trinket.]

( She smiled and leaned over - giving him plenty of room to lean away before she went to hug him. )

You're welcome, sweet thing. I owe you anyway, for helping me back when I was off being miserable.
